Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Reel links you paste. The Instagram URLs you submit, plus what our analysis extracted from them.
• Your account. If you sign in with Google we store your email address and name.
• Your notebook. Reels you save, the notes you write on them, and which product you saved them in.
• Usage. How many reels you processed, how many fact-checks you ran, and your credit balance.
• Payments. Handled by Stripe. We never see your card details.
• Analytics. Aggregate usage statistics used to improve the product.

How we use it

• To read the reels you paste and pull out the places and claims they mention
• To keep your notebook, your notes and your map in sync across your devices
• To fact-check the claims in a reel when you ask us to
• To run your account, your credits and your payments
• To improve accuracy and fix problems

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We pass the minimum needed to the services that make the product work:

• Google Gemini - receives the reel's caption, audio transcript and frames to identify places, and the claims we fact-check
• Google Maps Platform - receives place names to resolve them to coordinates for the map
• Supabase - stores your account, notebook and credits
• Stripe - processes payments
• OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap - serves the map tiles your browser loads
• Instagram - embeds the reel itself when you open one

Public and shared data

Extracted places and completed fact-checks are stored against the reel, not against you, and can be shown publicly on our map and fact-check pages. Your saved reels, your notes and your credit balance are private to your account. Pasting a reel does not publish anything you wrote.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, to remember your language, and to hold your recent reels when you are not signed in. Analytics cookies are used in aggregate and never to identify you personally.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your account data while your account exists. Ask us to delete it and we remove your account, your notebook and your notes. Reel analyses and fact-checks stay in the shared database in anonymous form so we do not have to pay to re-process the same public reel for the next person.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will handle it.

ReelsNote is not intended for anyone under 13.
